I’m really delighted and honoured to be a 2021 recipient of the New Playwright’s Award from Playwrights’ Studio Scotland. I will be writing a play about St Kilda and its people. I have wanted to write about St Kilda for a long time as I grew up in, and am currently back in, Morvern when many of the St Kildans came after the evacuation. I grew up hearing stories about them and was lucky enough to visit St Kilda once many years ago so I’m really relishing the chance to more fully explore their world.
